The Essence Of Place

Using bright colours, line, form, cold wax, and sometimes mixed media in an expressive energetic way, to capture and describe rural/urban landscapes in an abstracted manner, encapsulating the changing light and shadows which course across the land, highlighting the textures and geology within, by applying, and removing paint to expose previous applications to mimic the archaeology and essence of place, often alternating between the real and the imaginary.

It is these contradictions which intrigue, excite me and inform my work.
