Ikimono- Things that move
Ikimono is a Japanese term that literally means “things that move”. This usually refers to “living” creatures. My work explores the movement inherent in ‘inanimate’ things, such as bonsai trees and the graceful aging and decay of homes and buildings across Japan. It also occasionally references displaced people who are in constant movement across the world.
