Peter Brennan – Kilkenny’s cultural firestarter
In early 1940s Ireland, Kilkenny defied the cultural vacuum of ‘the Emergency’ blossoming into a vibrant artistic hub. Studio potter Peter Brennan was appointed as art master at the Central Technical School (Carlow, Kilkenny) at this time.
Peter’s son Luke will be in conversation with ceramicist Liselott Olofsson, discussing this unique mix of visionary individuals, supportive institutions, and historical forces that fueled Kilkenny’s mid-century cultural revival.
