Founded in 2014 by a group of artists and community organisers looking to bring together the scattered events and exhibitions that happen each August in Kilkenny. 

AKA recognises that cultural initiatives create high impact when they are community focused and community led. Our objective is to establish a connection between artists, musicians, craftspeople, and their respective audiences with a core aim of celebrating community arts across Kilkenny.

Over the years the festival has grown from strength to strength and continues to offer a platform to established and emerging artists from Kilkenny City and County.

The AKA is run by a committee of volunteers and we are looking for your help. If you have a set of skills you would like to share, or even time to distribute programmes and posters, please do contact akafringefest@gmail.com.
