ABOUT

Alternative Kilkenny Arts (AKA) is dedicated to supporting and platforming the artistic community in Kilkenny, providing a space for artists to showcase their work, particularly during AKA and alongside the Kilkenny Arts Festival.

At AKA, we’re committed to inclusivity and accessibility, ensuring that participation remains free and open for everyone, fostering a strong sense of community. AKA values cross-disciplinary creativity, offering opportunities for visual artists and all creative disciplines to engage with a wider audience.

AKA promotes collaboration, cultural enrichment, and a vibrant artistic network – through the works of over 100 artists each year. Deeply rooted in community engagement, the festival enhances Kilkenny’s cultural landscape while embracing innovative ways to connect with you.

This year, we’re celebrating ten years of Alternative Kilkenny Arts (AKA); championing creativity, connection, and community. 2025 continues our commitment to cross-disciplinary exploration, cultural enrichment, and grassroots engagement—while embracing new ideas and bold creative expression.

Join us in celebrating ten years of art, innovation, and community spirit in the heart of Kilkenny!
